Baldwin County arrests linked to multi-state theft

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested two men after a traffic stop allegedly led to the uncovering of a multi-state theft operation.

According to BCSO officials, deputies from their Special Operations Unit pulled over a vehicle on I-10 in Loxley, where they found “high-end construction equipment valued at over $20,000 and evidence suggesting the pair had been targeting vehicles across the southeast.”

The two men inside the vehicle, who the BCSO identified as Anthony Baker Jr. and Derek West Jr., were arrested on several theft and burglary warrants out of Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana, according to officials.

West was also linked to a vehicle burglary in Paulding County, Ga., so charges will be filed in that case, according to a BCSO news release…
