A video circulating online this week showing Chicago police arresting two men, including one who took a swing at a cop on camera, has an interesting and increasingly familiar twist: the guy who took the swing identified himself at the scene as one of the city’s “peacekeepers.”
According to CPD, it all started when cops saw 30-year-old Douglass Simmons driving a stolen Hyundai Santa Fe without a front license plate and tried to pull him over near the intersection of Campbell and Jackson at 1:10 p.m. Monday.
Simmons allegedly bailed out of the car and ran. But the cops caught up with him and that’s when the peacekeeper, wearing a red shirt with a large “V” on the back, stepped in…
