Parent turns over disassembled gun found in student’s bag outside Lincoln Southeast

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A 16-year-old boy is in state custody and facing felony charges after a gun was found in his belongings outside Lincoln Southeast High School Tuesday.

According to court documents, the gun, along with more than 70 rounds of ammunition, was spotted by a school resource officer in the backseat of the teen’s parents’ car.

The school resource officer said the teen was at the school with his parents for a meeting about being suspended when he left the building upset and asked his dad to let him in the car so he could “retrieve his property.”…
