A 35-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday morning after he said an alligator clamped down on his foot while he was fishing near a canal in Westwego, authorities said.
Westwego police and paramedics were dispatched to a home on West Drive in Westwego just before 8:30 a.m. after receiving a call for medical help, according to Captain Eric Orlando.
