3-year-old girl goes missing for 10 hours, found at a gas station

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A Riverton woman is behind bars after being accused of neglecting to return her friend’s 3-year-old daughter.

Police say that on Wednesday, Sept. 24, a 3-year-old child went missing from the Salt Lake County area for about 10 hours. The child had gone with a friend of her father, Katherine Stump, 31, to get a snack at 7-Eleven.

Documents allege that the father lent his vehicle to Stump at about 1 p.m. He asked her to take his daughter to the convenience store and told her to come back. He reportedly told police that he “believed Katherine would return shortly after.”…
