The city of Woodburn is continuing its now year-long fight against the tree-killing, invasive emerald ash borer.
The beetle was first detected in Wyffels Park in August 2024, and the city removed the infected trees in March. However, more infested trees have been found in a different part of the same park, continuing the city’s fight against the pesky insects.
Since the beetle detection last summer, city officials have been working to manage the spread, applying for grants to fund the efforts and creating an ash borer removal plan.
