Deer removal rumor debunked in City of Tonawanda

CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — The deer population in the City of Tonawanda has been a large topic of discussion between residents, and the Department of Environmental Conservation is now stepping in to help and offer advice.

Neighbors have shared different thoughts on how to deal with this, but Tonawanda Mayor John White says extreme measures like a “bait and shoot” to control the population never was — and never will be — on the table.

“I’m against it,” White said. “The problem is, I have some people in the neighborhood up near Two Mile Creek … one gentleman in particular who’s just like, ‘Look, you need to do something.’”…
