SPARTA, Mich. (WOOD) — A man who has been to prison numerous times for fraud is back behind bars, accused of trying to pass a bad check using a stolen ID at a Sparta bank.
A couple of factors worked against 45-year-old Jeremiah Edward Perez when he tried to get more than $1,200 at the bank drive-through window: an alert teller and a nearby police cruiser.
“We were able to arrest him less than 300 feet from the bank,” said Sparta Police Sgt. David Price. “He drove away and was going the wrong way when we boxed him in.”…
