Suspect Arrested in Connection to Poinciana Road Rage Shooting That Injured Two

After a road rage incident escalated into violence on Cypress Parkway in Poinciana, a suspect has been arrested, authorities report. ClickOrlando stated that Josue Gabriel Astacio, 30, is facing multiple criminal accusations after allegedly shooting two people on Tuesday during a confrontation. The altercation led to both drivers and the passenger in one vehicle sustaining gunshots, with Astacio purportedly fleeing the crime scene preceding his subsequent apprehension in Miami-Dade County.

In a statement obtained by ClickOrlando, Osceola County Sheriff Chris Blackmon announced that the incident prompted a response from deputies around 4 p.m. to HCA Florida Poinciana Medical Center. Having driven themselves to receive medical aid, the victims’ vehicle was detailed as having a back window shot out and the front window damaged. In the melee, the shooter fired three times at the black Ford Expedition. While trying to evade the gunfire, the driver had his head grazed, and his 39-year-old cousin was hit in the face.

The sheriff’s office identified Astacio as the aggressor who allegedly approached the victims’ vehicle after both had momentarily stopped. Arrested on Wednesday by the Miami-Dade County Robbery Intervention Unit in Hialeah, Astacio now faces significant legal challenges.
