Miami Burglary Suspect Surrenders After SWAT Standoff in Calm Neighborhood

A burglary suspect in Miami was apprehended after an intense standoff with the police yesterday afternoon. The incident, which escalated into a multiple-hour ordeal involving SWAT, began near Northwest 35th Avenue and 3rd Street, NBC Miami reports.

According to the Miami police detectives, the situation started just before the clock marked 3 p.m., when they were attempting to serve a warrant to the suspect, who is known to reside in the area. Upon seeing the law enforcement, he decided it was best to barricade himself in his home, triggering the standoff. While trying to serve a warrant, the detectives were seen with long guns and battering rams, as mentioned in 7News coverage.
