Frederick Spears was arrested on September 17, 2025, on the charge of aggravated assault involving family violence. He allegedly held his stepson, Ashton Spears, at knifepoint.
A few days later, Frederick Spears allegedly killed his estranged wife, Mary Spears. The suspect bonded out and was released from jail the day after his initial arrest.
