EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at an El Paso port of entry seized more than $130,000 in currency hidden in a vehicle.
The seizure took place on Sept. 17 at the Ysleta Port of Entry.
There, officers discovered and seized $131,675 in currency hidden in a BMW X4.
The currency was found in 16 foil-wrapped bundles in a non-factory-issued compartment in the fenders of the vehicle. The U.S. Attorney’s Office has accepted the case for prosecution, CBP said…
