St. Landry Parish jail full-body scanner installed to combat contraband

OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) — The St. Landry Parish jail has a new weapon against contraband, officials said.

Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz said the jail has installed a new Linev System Clearpass Digital Full Body Security Scanner.

“The security scanner detects metallic and non-metallic contraband hidden both on a person and/or inside the body of a person entering the Correctional Center,” Guidroz said. “The system is another tool to facilitate searches and is not intended to eliminate or replace current search procedures.”…
