Several Downtown Streets to Close For Pumpkin Run

More than 3,500 young runners representing over 90 area elementary schools will take part in the 24th annual Pumpkin Run on Sunday in the West Haymarket. The one-mile fun run is the largest youth-only event of its kind in the nation.

It will begin near Canopy and ‘P’ Streets and finish in front of the Pinnacle Bank Arena main entrance. The Nebraska Sports Council says heats will begin at 10 a.m. and continue every 30 minutes through 12:30 p.m. They will be organized by grade level to ensure a fun and safe experience for all participants.

Because of the large event, LTU will be closing several downtown streets, including Pinnacle Arena Drive between North Eighth and “N” streets. Other streets impacted include “R”, “Q”, “P”, “O” and “N” streets between Canopy Street and Pinnacle Arena Drive and Canopy Street between “R” and “N” streets…
