Eugene, Ore. – Drivers across Oregon will see a split weekend as summerlike sunshine Saturday quickly turns into wet, cooler conditions by Sunday night. According to the National Weather Service in Portland, Saturday will bring mostly sunny skies with highs near 80 degrees across Eugene and surrounding Lane County. Winds remain light, making conditions ideal for road travel and community events. By late Sunday, however, clouds will thicken with rain spreading into the southern Willamette Valley, including Springfield and Cottage Grove.

Commuters using I-105 and Beltline Highway should prepare for slick pavement Monday morning as rain continues into the workweek. Highs drop into the upper 60s by Monday and Tuesday, signaling the first real taste of October’s cooler, wetter pattern.
