Starbucks to close hundreds of US stores, including four in Albany, Hudson Valley

ALBANY — Hundreds of Starbucks stores will close this month, including one in Albany and three in the Hudson Valley, as part of a nationwide downsizing announced by the company’s CEO on Thursday.

The Albany store, located at 563 New Scotland Ave., will close on Saturday, less than one year after it opened, an employee said on Friday. According to the Starbucks store locator, the store will shut its doors for good after 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

“We’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close this Starbucks location by the end of this week,” a letter posted at the store reads. “We’re deeply grateful for the community that’s been built here.”…
