Two killed, three hurt in separate overnight shootings in Charlotte: CMPD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two people are dead and three others are injured in separate overnight shootings in Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Just after 2 a.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon with injury call in the 8800 block of Hollow Creek Circle in northeast Charlotte. When they arrived, they found someone with gunshot wounds who was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said a second gunshot victim was found at the hospital and is in stable condition.

About two hours later, around 4 a.m., shots were fired in the 5000 block of East Independence Blvd in east Charlotte. Three off-duty officers in uniform and marked patrol cars were nearby and responded to the scene, where they found three people with gunshot wounds.

Police said two of the victims self-transported to a local hospital. The third was taken by Medic, where they later died…
