Community Bikes and Living Earth School team up to reduce waste

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Two Charlottesville area groups are teaming up for an environmental cause.

Charlottesville Community Bikes and the Living Earth School have launched a new partnership. They are asking for donated bikes and bike parts in any condition with two goals: provide free transportation to those in need, and put less into landfills.

“With Living Earth School, we’re really excited about this partnership because they care deeply about this environment,” said Kevin Winchell, Executive Director of Charlottesville Community Bikes. “We obviously care deeply about the environment too because, every year we receive about 2,000 donated bikes to our shop that our mechanics fix up. Donations prevent bikes from going into a landfill.”…
