Fire crews extinguish Harrisburg row home blaze

Fire crews in Harrisburg responded to a row home fire Friday afternoon that spread to a neighboring house, forcing at least one person to evacuate.

Around 4:30 p.m., Dauphin County 911 dispatchers called out the fire with a first alarm along the 100 block of Hoerner Street. About a dozen police cruisers and firetrucks responded to the area.

Four ladders were propped against the row homes as a Harrisburg Bureau of Fire ladder truck lifted firefighters to the roof.

A neighbor who had to evacuate from a neighboring row home said they smelled smoke and saw the flames burning…
