The Surfside Beach town leaders on Tuesday, Sept. 24 approved a motion to increase future town councils’ annual salaries by 20%.
The 20% increase raises council members’ annual salaries to $7,200, and the mayor’s to $11,520. The raise will not take effect until Jan. 1, 2028, two elections away from the current representing body.
