A 21-year-old Baton Rouge woman was killed late Tuesday night in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 10 in St. John the Baptist Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
Troopers with LSP Troop B said the crash happened just before 11 p.m. Sept. 23 near milepost 210. Investigators said a GMC Yukon entered I-10 from U.S. 51 in LaPlace, traveling east in the westbound lanes. The SUV struck a westbound Nissan Altima head-on, causing both vehicles to catch fire.
The driver of the Yukon suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the Altima, identified as Patricia Saidu, 21, of Baton Rouge, died at the scene. Seat belt use for both drivers is still under investigation…
