ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – After multiple failed attempts, the local mother accused of killing her 1-year-old daughter finally appeared in front of a judge Thursday morning.
Vanessa Chavez will be staying in jail for now. Police say, in August, she beat her daughter to death.
