Pittsfield suspect arrested for alleged armed robbery attempt

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Police arrested an individual in Pittsfield last weekend for allegedly attempting to rob someone at knifepoint during a marijuana sale.

The Pittsfield Police Department stated that last Saturday, September 20, at approximately 2 p.m., officers were called to Dalton Avenue regarding a reported disturbance. When police arrived in the area, they spoke with the individuals involved in the altercation.

Investigation revealed that one of the individuals was trying to sell marijuana to another person, then reportedly attempted to rob the prospective buyer at knifepoint.

Pittsfield police arrested the suspect, who was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Attempt to Commit a Crime (Armed Robbery). The identity of the suspect has not been released.
