Lancaster County’s missing pig captured at last in East Petersburg

EAST PETERSBURG, Pa. — Manor Township Police were searching for a different kind of fugitive for two weeks after a pig eloped from his captors, the pig has been found and safely rescued by residents in East Petersburg. He is currently enjoying his stay at Lancaster Farm Sanctuary.

The pig, named Petey after his rescuers, was first reported missing on Thursday, Sept. 12.

The rescue party began picking up steam when East Petersburg resident Karen Grimaldi noticed that the pig had been routinely scanning her backyard for food. Grimaldi began to place the food closer to her shed with each passing visit in an effort to trap the pig. Petey, however, had other plans…
