Avoid the water at South Point Drive Beach, Crandon Park North due to bacteria: Officials

Officials are advising the public to avoid all water-related activities at Crandon Park North and South Point Drive Beach (South Beach Park) due to the heightened presence of Enterococcus bacteria.

The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade issued a water quality advisory for Crandon Park North in Key Biscayne and South Point Drive Beach (South Beach Park) in Miami Beach on Wednesday.

Tests completed on Tuesday indicated that the water quality did “not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the Florida Department of Health.”…
