Solange launches Saint Heron Library to offer free access to rare books by Black & brown authors

Solange’s mission to preserve Black and brown art continues through the Saint Heron Community Library, which provide free access to rare book and magazine titles.

The library launched this week with 65 titles, including “Shakespeare in Harlem” by Langston Hughes and “Bloodchild” by Octavia E. Butler. In a statement on Instagram, Solange explained the project’s mission as “a small part in creating free access to the expansive range of critical thought and expression by these great minds.”
