Marchers walk 18K to raise money to prevent veteran suicide

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Community members in backpacks and camouflage marched Saturday around the streets of Monona and Madison to raise money and awareness for local veterans’ programs.

The ruck marchers are with the group Operation Ruck 22, an organization working to lower the number of veterans who die by suicide.

Hosted at VFW Post 7591, ruckers marched 18 kilometers for the 18 veterans who die by suicide each day on average in the United States…
