LUBBOCK, Texas — The Hispanic Association of Women (HAW) mission is to empower women and promoting higher education since 1983. The organization is the oldest Hispanic Association in Lubbock to be a fully volunteer organization. What draws people to this organization is like-minded people who are seeking a higher purpose and opportunities to serve.
The organization has a annual gala where they award high school seniors, graduate and undergrad students a $2,000 scholarship. In 42 years, the organization has given out over one million dollars in scholarships all through donations from members and the community…
