Camden overwhelms Cheatham County in region bout

Cheatham County saw its two-game home win streak snapped Friday night, falling 41-7 to visiting Camden Central at Mike Jarreau Field.

The Cubs (3-3, 1-2 Region 6-AAA) struggled to slow down the Lions’ (2-4, 1-1) physical rushing attack and never fully found their own rhythm on offense.

“You know, I thought we played hard all night long,” Cubs head coach Gary Halstead said. “I saw a lot of effort from these guys, and sometimes you just run into a team with better players. Our team is still very young, and this is a tough loss, but we will continue to grow and get better. Right now, our guys are having to learn to live under fire, but they keep fighting each and every single week.”
