NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — An inactivation ceremony was held at Joint Base Langley-Eustis for the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command.
For 52 years TRADOC has been responsible for training, educating, and developing soldiers. For the past 14 years, it’s been headquartered at Fort Eustis in Newport News. The ceremony included a casing of the colors, marking the end of the half century command as it is set to merge with the Army Futures Command to form the Army Transformation and Training Command, otherwise known as T2COM. It will be headquartered in Austin, Texas.
According to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the merger will help “ensure strategic readiness, efficiency and modernization.”
