SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Mexican native Lupita Hernandez came from Guadalajara, Jalisco to the US with her husband 13 years ago. Since then, she’s turned her love for cooking to life when she started her pastry venture, “Sweet Pieces”, selling baked goods across the Ozarks.
“My passion always was baking or cooking”, said Hernandez.
When she made the decision to open her business in 2020, Hernandez initially began selling from a table at the farmer’s market. Seeing a vision for what could be possible, she decided to take a risk and expand her business by buying a food truck. She says it was expensive, but her husband supported her every step of the way…
