Police: Drunken Driver Crashes Car After Traveling 110 MPH in 30 MPH Zone

SCOTIA — A Rensselaer County man allegedly drove drunk at 110 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone before crashing his car early Friday morning, police said. The driver had to be extricated from the overturned vehicle and is now in the hospital.

Police charged the 26-year-old man with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and speeding. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges related to the high-speed chase and crash are expected.
