Alabama Theatre 2025 holiday film series: Dates, movies, times, tickets

Deck the halls and get your tickets. The Alabama Theatre‘s holiday film series returns in 2025, with 16 screenings planned for Dec. 12-22. Christmas classic and seasonal gems are on the agenda at the historic venue in downtown Birmingham.

The annual series is beloved here — with screenings of “Elf,” “The Polar Express,” “White Christmas,” “Die Hard” and more — and movie fans get to see the theater decorated in fancy holiday style.

Here’s the full series lineup at the theater, 1817 Third Ave. North:

  • Friday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m., “White Christmas.”
  • Saturday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m., “The Polar Express,” benefiting Kid One Transport.
  • Saturday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m., “Elf.”
  • Sunday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m., “A Christmas Story.”
  • Sunday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m., “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
  • Monday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m., “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”
  • Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m., “Home Alone.”
  • Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m., “Elf.”
  • Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m., “The Santa Clause.”
  • Friday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m., “Die Hard.”
  • Saturday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m., “Elf.”
  • Saturday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m., “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”
  • Sunday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m., Cartoon Matinee Triple Feature (“A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”).
