(PINPOINT WEATHER) — The headline speaks for itself, we are not expecting significant impacts from future Tropical Storm and eventually Hurricane Imelda. Weather models continue to push the storm further and further to the east, which is a very favorable track for our region.
While the forecast will have little significance in regard to impacts, we will still get some rainfall due to tropical moisture pushing in. Rain showers will move in late Monday and continue through the day on Tuesday.
Gov. Stein announces state of emergency for North Carolina ahead of future Tropical Cyclone Imelda
The rain will be heavy at times in a few areas, but it is not expected to bring major flooding concerns. Any high water issues that pop up to start the week will be more nuisance issues.
The area will only receive roughly 0.5-1.5 inches of rainfall, and winds will be breezy at times to start the work week. Winds will be between 10-15 mph on Monday and Tuesday, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Imelda will likely become a hurricane by Tuesday and turn back out to sea on Wednesday.
We can be thankful for powerful Hurricane Humberto, which is what will likely pull Imelda away from the Carolinas before it can make landfall.
As Imelda moves back out to sea by Wednesday, conditions will quickly dry out across the Queen City News viewing area. A true fall pattern takes shape later this week, with more sunshine and cooler conditions!…
