  • Chance of passing showers continues today.
  • We get a break from the rain Sunday with a dip in rain chances.
  • Monday and Tuesday are First Alert Weather Days for possible impacts from Tropical Depression 9.

First Alert Summary:.

A First Alert Weather Day continues this afternoon for the potential of scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm. Thankfully, we expect the chance of rain to decrease this evening just in time kickoff for the USC game. Overnight, temperatures will drop to the middle 60s under a partly cloudy sky.

Today’s cold front will exit just to the east on Sunday, which will result in lower rain chances. Outside of a rogue shower, the end of the weekend will be mostly quiet with highs tomorrow in the middle 80s.

Our forecast becomes very tricky with the influence that Tropical Depression 9 could have on it for the first half of upcoming week. As of the latest forecast track, TD9 may not even make landfall along the East Coast and could make a turn eastward following behind Hurricane Humberto. This would still result in impacts across South Carolina, but the magnitude of those impacts would be much lower.

Based on current guidance, the Midlands will still have a chance of seeing heavy rains which could result in flooding. Areas near Columbia and eastward would have a better chance of seeing higher rainfall amounts.

First Alert Forecast:

Tonight: Partly cloudy with lows in the middle 60s…
