$11 million in VA grant funding going to fight veteran homelessness in Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The Department of Veterans Affairs is giving more than $11 million to organizations in the state who support veterans facing homelessness or those who don’t have the resources they need to survive.

The grants will fund three groups in 2026: United Way of Central Alabama, Volunteers of America Southeast, and Hope for All Gulf Coast.
