Staten Island woman redefines celebration with ‘solo wedding’ featuring 60 pugs in formalwear

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Nadette Stasa wants to be clear about one thing: She’s not marrying herself.

The 60-year-old St. George resident has been planning a “solo wedding,” scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Judson Memorial Church in Manhattan’s Washington Square Park.

With 180 guests, a vintage wedding dress and a procession of several dozen pugs, the event isn’t about self-marriage, sologamy, or making a political statement, but is more of “a milestone of celebration, joy, ritual and connection,” she explained…
