Lewisville Residents Advised to Boil Water Following Major Main Break

Residents in the City of Lewisville woke up to a troublesome Friday morning, as a significant water main break resulted in a mandate for citizens to boil their water. The City of Lewisville’s official statement explained that the 12” line break prompted this cautionary action to be taken immediately. According to the notice, people in the affected areas have to boil their water before using it for any consumption purposes, such as drinking, cooking, or even brushing their teeth.

This incident has heightened concerns about the vulnerability of the city’s infrastructure. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires that the notice include an advisory, especially to children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems who are particularly at risk.
