Best Halloween Town in Arkansas

It’s safe to say that Arkansas is not a prime destination for Halloween celebrations. After all, we’re not St. Helen’s, Oregon, where most of “Halloweentown” was filmed for those of you not familiar with the Cromwell witches. But if you’re a fan of the creepy season, don’t you fret! We have thrilling Halloween towns in Arkansas, eagerly preparing to get you into the spooky holiday spirit.

One town in particular has exceeded the standard of measly haunted houses and trunk-or-treats. Can you guess where it is? If you’re searching for a place that makes a haunting transformation, then a trip to Eureka Springs will ease your ghostly woes. We’ve selected the best events in this Halloween wonderland in Arkansas that will take this spooktacular holiday to the next level. From bone-chilling ghost tours to zombie crawls to whimsical parades, and more, Eureka Springs is the ultimate Halloween destination in Arkansas – well, at least I think so!

Crescent Hotel Ghost Tours

What better way to kick off the season than with a ghost tour at America’s Most Haunted Hotel? Throughout Halloween, chilling tales and the whispers of restless spirits are waiting inside the corridors of the spooky 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa. The 60-minute tour is offered nightly, but during Halloween, you might find yourself in the presence of the guests who never left. This terrifying ghost tour in Arkansas is filled with paranormal activity, and it’s not for the faint of heart. You have been warned!

Halloween Parade and Trick-or-Treat

Downtown Eureka Springs comes alive with Halloween decorations, so residents and local businesses can add to the spine-tingling motif of the season. On Halloween day, bring the entire family, wear your scariest costumes, go trick-or-treating, and watch the terrifying floats in the parade. The festivities begin at 2 p.m., so don’t be late for this family-friendly Halloween event in Arkansas.

Zombie Crawl

On Saturday, October 25, downtown Eureka Springs will look like a scene from the TV series The Walking Dead. This creepy parade brings together locals and visitors in search of fun and brains. Ghouls, witches, sinister clowns, and of course, bloody zombies will take over the city in one of the best Halloween events in Arkansas. The Zombie Crawl will have makeup artists on site, and if you come early, you can even learn the famous Thriller dance. This zombie invasion will be the most fun you’ll have on Halloween this year.

Other Events

Obviously, Eureka Springs comes alive in more than one way. The historic town attracts thousands of visitors during this time of year. So, expect large crowds when you visit. The good news? Outside of the parades, Zombie Crawl, and ghost tours, there are other spooktacular events that I’d recommend.

For those looking for a bit of witchy fun, check out what’s brewing at the Harvest Witch Festival. Mark your calendars for October 17 and come join the festivities on Center Street with vendors, dancing, costume contests, and, I can’t forget, a group of witches ready to conjure up their next spell…
