Drury and McKendree Play to Scoreless Draw

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury men’s soccer was held to a 0-0 draw against McKendree at Harrison Stadium on Sunday’s Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) matchup.

Neither team could get momentum going in the first half. Sam Tagg opened the half with a shot in the first 30 seconds, followed by a Mason Platts shot in the second minute. McKendree had a string of shots in the middle of the half, but none of them found the target. The last action of the half came from Abduallah Iqbal with a shot in the 39th minute that missed wide.

Both teams fought for a lead in the second half, but neither could find the back of the net. The Bearcats opened the half with a shot in the 54th minute. Mason Platts forced a save from McKendree’s goalkeeper in the 60th minute off a corner kick opportunity. Later in the half, Steen Voller forced two saves from McKendree in the 73rd minute, followed by a shot from Guilherme Maia that was just wide of the net. The Bearcats had the last chance of the game with a shot in the last minute, but the game ended in a scoreless tie…
