Family Members Among Five Charged in Detroit Kidnapping, Murder Plot

Federal prosecutors have charged five people—including relatives—in what they describe as a conspiracy to kidnap, rob, and kill Curtis Dixon, a Detroit man who recently received more than $100,000 in donations after going viral for a good deed.

According to a 27-page complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan obtained by Fox 2 News, Dixon, identified as Victim 1, was ambushed, beaten, tied up, and driven to multiple locations where he was forced to withdraw cash. His wife, identified as Victim 2, was also targeted during a home invasion.

The suspects are Roland Terrell Chatmon, Dnequia Stroman, Ieasha Ann Stroman, Leica Doreen Lopez Martinez, and Kenneth Paul Anderson. Chatmon is Dixon’s nephew, as pointed out in the complaint documents. Investigators said the scheme began after Chatmon learned of Dixon’s viral windfall. In a recorded jail call, Chatmon told his brother, “I said that ***** better not make me turn a hustle.”…
