KPS officials to go door-to-door to combat truancy

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A couple of weeks before trick or treaters hit the streets this year, Kalamazoo Public Schools officials will be knocking on doors, combating truancy.

Superintendent Darrin Slade says they have just received the official attendance numbers for the last school year.

“Last year the state improved by 1.6%. Kalamazoo improved by 4.4%. Again we continue to outpace the state in all areas.”…
