KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A former Knox County teacher previously charged with rape was indicted on an additional sexual battery charge, the Knoxville Police Department said.
The Knox County Grand Jury indicted West High School teacher Chad Brooks on sexual battery by an authority figure, after KPD said they identified a new victim.
Man facing murder charge after January shooting in Monroe County
According to KPD, a new indictment was issued on Wednesday after detectives reported identifying another victim. Brooks was booked on Friday.
Brooks was previously indicted for 16 counts of aggravated statutory rape and statutory rape by an authority figure against one victim between January 2024 and March 2025. Additionally, a personnel file accused him of asking people to remove items from his classroom, including a school-issued device he was told to leave at the school.
