DEWITT, N.Y. — Some residents in DeWitt woke up Sunday morning to thick clouds of smoke outside their windows. This was due to a large fire at Metalico Metal Recycler. A large pile of recyclable materials went up in flames at around 6:30 a.m.
The flames were so high that even residents in Liverpool noticed them.
Jason Green, DeWitt Fire Chief, said, “We’ve heard reports of being able to smell it from as far away as Liverpool.”…
