ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A man received a life sentence for killing his girlfriend – a case that led to a courtroom brawl earlier this year.
A judge sentenced Alexander Segura-Ortiz to life in prison Monday. It came a little over a month after a jury convicted him of first-degree murder for the January 2024 shooting death of his girlfriend, Alianna Farfan. Ortiz shot her inside of a bedroom during an argument.
According to witnesses, they heard a gunshot, a door breaking down and found Farfan critically wounded. Meanwhile, Ortiz jumped out of a window and ran away. Police arrested him the following month…
