Authorities in Washington say they have rescued 27 dogs from “deplorable” conditions after neighbors called to complain about incessant barking and a foul odor.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said Pierce County Animal Control received a complaint about a home in the Midland area, south of Tacoma, on the 3400 block of 52nd Street East, reporting “out of control” barking and a foul smell. The complaint also noted the exterior of the property was filled with trash and overgrown bushes.
Animal control officers conducted a welfare check at the property on Sept. 15 and found 27 living dogs and two “recently deceased” dogs in “deplorable conditions.” The dogs were found in small cages in small rooms that were “unsanitary and filled with urine and feces.”…
