COLONIE — A town police officer was injured last Wednesday while arresting two men from Queens for allegedly coordinating a financial scam, police said.
The Flushing men, ages 34 and 43, were arrested after an employee at Community Resource Federal Credit Union on Wade Road noticed an older customer acting confused while being directed by someone on the phone to withdraw $30,000 for a “construction project,” Colonie police said. Police came to the bank and, posing as the alleged victim, arranged to meet the suspect to turn over the cash.
Both suspects were charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony. The 43-year-old was also charged with felony assault on a police officer and misdemeanor resisting arrest after an investigator “suffered a significant injury” during the arrest, police said…
