Charges dismissed against Fort Wayne man accused in 2017 murder case

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Charges against one of two Fort Wayne men charged in a 2017 murder case have been dismissed.

Tavon Underwood, 27, was initially charged with murder, felony murder and attempted robbery. Carlos Ellis, 27, is still facing those same charges in the death of 36-year-old Nicholas Hennan, who was found dead in a car that crashed into a tree on Aug. 3, 2017, according to court records.

On Friday, Allen Superior Court Judge David Zent dismissed the charges against Underwood without prejudice, meaning they could be refiled at a later date…
