September 25, 2025 – A several month investigation by MNPD narcotics detectives into the distribution of fentanyl out of a home in Madison has led to the arrest of Joseph Webster, 46, on charges of fentanyl and cocaine possession for resale, unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon, and gun possession in the commission of a dangerous felony.
The investigation identified Webster as a seller of fentanyl from his home on Canton Pass. He was taken into custody just after leaving there this afternoon and was found to be in possession of 5.1 grams of white and purple powders. The white powder tested positive for fentanyl and cocaine. The purple powder tested positive for fentanyl. A search warrant was executed at the residence resulting in the seizure of two pistols and a large sum of cash.
Webster was convicted of felony cocaine possession in 2002 and received a 13-year sentence. In 2005, he was convicted of the 1998 murder of a man in the Napier-Sudekum community. That conviction was vacated in Criminal Court in 2020 at the request of the Nashville District Attorney’s Conviction Review Unit after new witness accounts surfaced.
