Scooter Rider Injured in Collision on 11th Avenue

A man riding an electric scooter was injured in a collision with a Lexus at the intersection of W50th Street and 11th Avenue on Sunday afternoon. The crash happened around 5pm, drawing a large emergency response from FDNY and NYPD.

Passersby rushed to the rider’s aid, calling for help and directing traffic around the scene until first responders arrived. Firefighters from Companies 54 and 4, along with paramedics, placed the man on a spinal board before transporting him by ambulance. His condition was not immediately known.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and spoke with police. Officers from the Midtown North Precinct were present, but as of Sunday evening the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information said they could not confirm further details.

According to the FDNY, the call came in at 5:08pm reporting a person struck at 11th Avenue and W50th Street. EMS transported one patient to Mount Sinai Morningside (St. Luke’s) Hospital. No information on the individual’s condition was immediately available…
